Vanessa Perumal is the first black woman to head the Public Affairs & Communications division at Southern Africa Music Rights Organisation (SAMRO). Vanessa has always been an activist that has fought for the arts and culture in this country. She is the winner of the 2014 Imbokodo Award for Women in Media promoting the Arts, The Cherri Blair 2014 Mentee on the Entrepreneurship Programme, Goldmansachs- Gibs Entrepreneur Graduate. She is the founder of JT Communications Solutions.

Visionaries’ Lounge profiles self-made South Africans with noteworthy achievements. The achievers use their life stories to unpack the process of character development, self-belief, the importance of values and personal philosophies in building a successful life determined by their desires and dreams. The series features guests across the racial lines and from different disciplines including Dr Imtiaz Sooliman, Pastor Musa Sono and Mirriam Zwane. The talk show is hosted by TV and radio personality Ayanda Allie-Paine.
