Exciting Updates Unveiled for International Day of Yoga Celebration at Wanderers Stadium

The International Day of Yoga celebration at Wanderers Stadium on Saturday, 24 June 2023 just got even more thrilling, as the organizers announce exciting additions and support from esteemed partners. The Consulate General of India, Johannesburg, is thrilled to unveil the latest developments for this highly anticipated event, which is poised to become one of the biggest Yoga gatherings in the world.

In recognition of the global significance of Yoga, as declared by the United Nations, South Africa is preparing to host an extraordinary International Day of Yoga event. With the support of esteemed partners and organizations, the celebration promises to showcase the country's dedication to fostering a multi-cultural environment and promoting holistic well-being among its citizens.

One of the notable updates is the involvement of Discovery, who will be throwing their weight behind the International Day of Yoga at Wanderers Stadium. As part of their support, Discovery's Vitality members will enjoy an exclusive benefit of receiving 100 additional points for participating in the event, adding even more incentive for members to embrace this rejuvenating practice.

Additionally, the Consulate General of India, Johannesburg will be hosting a series of pre-event Yoga sessions featuring acclaimed Yoga instructor Maya Bhatt. These sessions will provide a perfect opportunity for participants to warm up and experience the transformative power of Yoga before the main event. Mark your calendars for a special Yoga session on 17 June at the Lowveld National Botanical Gardens from 09:30 AM to 11:30 AM with Maya Bhatt, followed by another invigorating session on Sunday, 18 June at Parktown.

In another exciting collaboration, The Art Box, an esteemed Art institute providing art classes for children and adults, will offer free children's classes at Wanderers Stadium. Attendees will have the unique opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of art while enjoying the celebration, further enhancing the overall experience for families.

The celebration aims to bring together individuals, families, and communities to engage in yoga sessions, workshops, demonstrations, and discussions. It is a day dedicated to promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and stress reduction through the practice of yoga.

International Day of Yoga has gained tremendous popularity worldwide, with millions of people actively participating in yoga events organized in public spaces, parks, schools, community centers, and yoga studios. Over 5000 participants are expected to join the mass Yoga event at Wanderers Stadium, making it a truly remarkable gathering of yogis from all walks of life. The event has garnered significant support from major yoga schools and institutions, who are actively promoting and encouraging their students to participate. With their involvement, the celebration is set to be a vibrant and diverse showcase of the power of yoga, uniting individuals in their pursuit of physical fitness, mental well-being, and overall holistic wellness.

The International Day of Yoga celebration will take place on Saturday, 24 June 2023, from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Wanderers Cricket Stadium, Corlett Dr, Illovo, Sandton, 2196.

Each participant who registers will get a Free Yoga Mat, Yoga t-shirt and Water bottle.
