Top 32 Idols contestant and singer Sandy Bota wowed South Africans with her strong, velvety voice, fashion sense and ‘beauty WITH the brains’ appeal on Idols this August! Born in the Eastern Cape on June 23rd, 1990, the Grade 5 Maths teacher uses her understanding of music and rhyme to teach difficult Maths concepts in order to drive rich understandings of abstract concepts! Fans from all over South Africa fell in love with her rounding off rhyme, which saw her followed by student fans across her social media profiles after airing on Idols Season 15.
Sandy Bota’s teaching has been aired on DSTV and she continues to use music and innovation to appeal to Generation Z music lovers in her exciting and well-researched Maths lessons. The sensation is completing her postgrad degree in Curriculum Issues at The University of the Witwatersrand and hopes to join the Ministry of Education soon in pioneering a ground-breaking curriculum which integrates a rigorous syllabus, well trained teachers and song.
Not only is the singer-songwriter’s teaching approach a hit in class, but she describes her latest single as a House Hit written amidst the demands of teaching, researching Maths learning theories and competing on Idols. ‘Stay for the Night’ by DJ Nascent and Sandy Bota is to be released on the 23rd of September and talks to woman power in spotting what she wants and going for it against all odds!
Her song can be downloaded and streamed across popular digital music stores such as ITunes, Google Play and Spotify.
