In the build up to the inaugural Joburg International Reggae Splash taking place on the 23rd of November 2019 at Carfax Newtown, creatives will get an opportunity to engage in dialogue, roundtables and workshops with subject matter experts on various topics as they unpack on how to develop reggae music as an opportunity to create sustainable businesses through the craft.

Taking place on the 22nd of November, the Free all day event will open its doors and all music industry stakeholders are invited to be part of The South African Reggae Summit (SARSA), an all-day music summit featuring panel discussions, workshops, and independent music artist showcases. The aim of these panels is to openly discuss the on-going challenges these genres face, and offer potential solutions for growth.

The knowledgeable panel of music professionals will draw on their experiences, and share ideas aimed at ensuring that emerging music professionals know how to market their skills and develop their careers.

The SARSA will continue in its aim towards providing a platform for independent music professionals, to discuss the challenges and opportunities in the South African Reggae music industry, and propose solutions to these issues. In addition, the SARSA provides conference attendees with education, resources, and networking opportunities with established and experienced industry professionals.
