Arts Incubator Programme for Limpopo Arts Practitioners

Bounteous Events in partnership with the National Arts Council (NAC) of South Africa brings to you an Arts Incubator Programme for Limpopo Arts Practitioners. Bounteous Events together with Limpopo Arts Practitioners will be hosting Theatre shows for Limpopo communities in the villages from the 15th to the 30th January. The programme commenced in April 2021 with workshops on Arts Projects and Production Management.

The main aims of Limpopo Arts Programme were the following:

- To empower Limpopo Artists with arts Management skills;

- To empower Limpopo artists with production management

- To encourage the ethics of collaborations within the arts;

- Audience development in the rural communities

The artists who attended the workshops then are now entering the last two phases (creation of the new work and performance) of Project Management.

The shows will be addressing the issues of Gender Based Violence in communities and promoting the importance of Segagešu “My culture”. Performers will use all the spoken languages of Limpopo (Sepedi, Ndebele, Tsonga, Tshivenda and Setswana)

Featuring a cast of professional performers and developing artists, including the well-known Limpopo community veterans and upcoming artists from all performing arts disciplines.

These shows and performances will be scheduled as follows;

  • Sekhukhune District - 15th-22nd January 2022 in Sepedi, isiNdebele and siSwati will be hosted by Kgošigadi Seloane, Ka Mošate Malatane
  • Waterberg District - 22st January 2022 in Sepedi, Ndebele and Setswana at Moshate Mogalakwena Beach
  • Capricorn District - 20 January 2022 in Sepedi and Setswana in Seshego Zone 1 Exclusive Theatre
  • Vhembe District - 29th January 2022 in Tshivenda at Thohoyandou.
  • Shirley - 30th January 2022 in Xitsonga in Shirley at the Lutheren Church

Attending these shows will help you learn more about the Limpopo cultures. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, only a limited number of people will be allowed at the venues. Email info@bounteousevents.co.za for further information and to book a place to attend the shows.
