Embracing 21st Century Technology

A niche set-up for the innovative and visionary African Media Centre of Excellence that will see them extending their contribution and service as an important content hub and media archive source.
Delivering quality is a non-negotiable in today’s competitive market. In order for the studio to be productive from installation, our package that not only performs well, but also is easy to operate.
At the heart of the video editing and capture suite is a 27-inch: 3.4GHz quad-core Intel Core i5 Turbo Boost up to 3.8GHz, 16GB memory
1TB hard drive and NVIDIA GeForce GTX 775M with 2GB video memory.
Software will include Final Cut Pro X, Motion and Compressor with future plans to include Adobe’s new Creative Cloud range of graphic tools.
We’ve chosen two Canon XA40 HD video cameras to handle the video capturing. From conferencing to documentary production, these cameras guarantee compelling delivery.

To compliment the video suite, an audio suite with a similar spec’d Apple iMac will run the industry standard audio editing tools from Avid - Pro Tool 11.
The well known Focusrite Scarlett audio interface will take care of the audio IO(Input Output). From script to voiceover, sound effects and even live recording of small bands, nothing will stand in the way of this small but powerful setup.

Empowering young journalist with digital savvy is one of the goals. We are functioning in a digital world where iPhones record feature films and news from across the globe – it is this interface that will be the reality of the Media Centre and with the recording aspect established there will be no ceiling on what can be archived and disseminated.
